Fast Travel Not Included

A browser survival game with one life per character. You cross a procedurally generated world on foot, a tile at a time; walking finds the fights, and hunger, thirst and fatigue wear you down between them. Losing one fight, to a monster or a player, ends that character for good and leaves its grave where it fell.

The overworld: a fogged map of corridors, rooms and biomes around a lone character

Creating a character

Appearance

The portrait is your character as others see it, beside its map pawn. The name draws the look; ↻ Another look draws another for the same name. Tweak the look sets each part by hand (skin, build, hair (13 styles), beard, eyes, mark, top, legs, feet, arms, head), every part but build with its own hue and saturation; Reset tweaks restores the name's look.

Name

3 to 32 characters: letters, numbers, spaces, -, _; unique. Shown to other players and recorded on everything the character makes. The dice picks a random name.

Stat points

Eight points over four stats, 0 to 8 each. The name spreads them, the same way every time; Tweak stats moves them by hand, and a new name respreads them. All eight must be spent. The screen previews HP, mana, neural capacity and carry capacity. What each stat governs: Character: Stats.

Play intro sequence, on by default, plays a five-second introduction on first entering the world; a tap, a click or any non-modifier key skips it.

Entering the world

Play loads a top-down map with a HUD around it. See Controls.

After 20 failed attempts Can't reach the server — Stopped trying, with Reload
A disconnect or reconnect A toast, at most one of each per 5 s; none while the server is updating
